For almost 30 years Morten Schuldt-Jensen and Sokkelund Sangkor have performed either Handel's Messiah or Bach's Christmas Oratorio for the Copenhagen concert-goers. This year it is Bach's turn.
The fantastic soloists are:
Trine Wilsberg-Lund (soprano)
Mareike Morr (alto)
Richard Resch (tenor)
Hans Christoph Begemann (bass)
In connection with the 40th anniversary of Sokkelund Sangkor we will perform Bach's magnificent Magnificat along with the first 3 cantatas of his Christmas Oratorio.
One tradition at our Christmas concerts is the introduction, where the conductor with participation of soloists, choir, and orchestra, will explain and illustrate particular aspects of the music, e.g., with focus on a musical theme or tool, or how a theological point is expressed in the music.
The introduction will start one hour before the concert and will last for 30 minutes. Doors open 1.5 hours before the concert, a half hour before the introduction, and will remain open through the introduction.
Tickets are available at billetto.
