 ABOUT THE CHOIR:

The mixed classical choir Sokkelund Sangkor, led by Morten Schuldt-Jensen, has held a position among the most respected top Danish choral ensembles since its beginning in 1984.

The choir can guarantee a Christmas light - both through classical oratorio performances and intimate jazzy sounds. We have a very broad repertoire such as passions, contemporary a-cappekka, liturgical, baroque and other genres, in an evolving and sometimes MSJ-arranged repertoire we'd like to share with you.

Magnificat and the Christmas Oratorio

Sokkelund Sangkor and Morten Schuldt-Jensen in collaboration with the internationally renowned Leipziger Kammerorchester  will perform J. S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Cantatas 1, 2, and 3 in Garnisons Kirke, Skt. Annæ Plads 4 in Copenhagen. The two concerts take place Friday Dec. 6 at 8pm and at Saturday Dec. 7 at 1pm. Note the introduction to the work with the entire ensemble one hour before each concert; this is a must if you have not heard and seen it yet!

The fantastic soloists are:

Trine Wilsberg-Lund (soprano)

Mareike Morr (alto)

Richard Resch (tenor)

Hans Christoph Begemann (bass)

In connection with the 40th anniversary of Sokkelund Sangkor we will enhance our traditional oratorio concert with Bach's magnificent Magnificat.
